Entre o boto e a tarrafa: reflexões filosóficas a partir da pesca colaborativa em Imbé

Abstract

Este artigo propõe uma leitura metafórica e representacional da pesca colaborativa da tainha, realizada no município de Imbé, litoral norte do Rio Grande do Sul, a partir de alguns conceitos presentes no pensamento de Karl Marx. O estudo parte da compreensão da pesca colaborativa como uma prática cultural tradicional, marcada pela interação entre pescadores artesanais, botos e ambiente natural, para analisar a tainha como uma representação simbólica capaz de suscitar reflexões sobre trabalho, alienação, dominação e resistência. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa caracteriza-se como qualitativa, bibliográfica e interpretativa, fundamentada em autores que discutem representação, metáfora, filosofia, cultura e educação. As discussões apoiam-se especialmente nas contribuições de Marx, Ricoeur, Lakoff e Johnson, Burke e Paulo Freire. Os resultados indicam que a metáfora da tainha constitui um recurso interpretativo capaz de aproximar experiências culturais locais de conceitos filosóficos mais amplos, sem estabelecer equivalências diretas entre a prática pesqueira e a teoria marxista. Além disso, a pesquisa aponta para o potencial pedagógico da metáfora quando articulada aos princípios da educação crítica, favorecendo processos de reflexão sobre a realidade social e a construção do conhecimento. Conclui-se que a pesca colaborativa de Imbé oferece um rico campo simbólico para o diálogo entre cultura, filosofia e educação.

This article proposes a metaphorical and representational reading of the collaborative mullet fishing practice carried out in the municipality of Imbé, on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, based on selected concepts from Karl Marx's thought. The study begins by understanding collaborative fishing as a traditional cultural practice characterized by the interaction among artisanal fishers, dolphins, and the natural environment, in order to analyze the mullet as a symbolic representation capable of prompting reflections on labor, alienation, domination, and resistance. Methodologically, the research is qualitative, bibliographical, and interpretative, grounded in authors who discuss representation, metaphor, philosophy, culture, and education. The discussion is particularly supported by the contributions of Marx, Ricoeur, Lakoff and Johnson, Burke, and Paulo Freire. The findings indicate that the mullet metaphor constitutes an interpretative resource capable of connecting local cultural experiences with broader philosophical concepts, without establishing direct equivalences between the fishing practice and Marxist theory. Furthermore, the study highlights the pedagogical potential of the metaphor when articulated with the principles of critical education, fostering reflection on social reality and the construction of knowledge. It is concluded that the collaborative fishing practice in Imbé offers a rich symbolic field for dialogue among culture, philosophy, and education.
